Muscle building miracle discovered

October 31st, 2009

from this article

Are you the ‘average joe’ sick and tired of feeling weak and unhealthy?  Or are you a serious bodybuilder, stuck on yet another “plateau”—and just can’t improve?  If so, you may be interested in a product that will help you improve muscle mass, improve your health, and look better.

Nitric Oxide, now featured regularly in the news, is a natural compound proved to increase blood flow—and improve muscular fullness through vasodilation and oxygen delivery.   According to Dr. Louis Ignarro, a Nobel Prize Winner in Medicine, Nitric Oxide may even promote healthy hearts.

Here is the problem: although nitric oxide occurs naturally in our bodies, we don’t make enough of it to have any real impact.

That’s bad news, because nitric oxide is unequivocally the most powerful solution in sparking natural muscle growth, powerful strength gains and incredible, ripped muscles.  In fact, its benefits are numerous: continued here

HELSINKI  —  The world’s largest cruise liner on Friday began its maiden voyage to Florida, gliding out from a shipyard in Finland with an amphitheater, basketball courts and an ice rink on board.

The 16-deck Oasis of the Seas spans 1,200 feet from bow to stern. Its 2,700 cabins can accommodate 6,300 passengers and 2,100 crew.

Commissioned by Royal Caribbean International, the ship cost $1.5 billion and took two and a half years to build at the STX Finland Oy shipyard in Turku, southwestern Finland.

The liner has four swimming pools, volleyball and basketball courts, and a youth zone with theme parks and nurseries for children. There is also an ice rink that seats 780 spectators and a small-scale golf course.

The Oasis of the Seas is due to make its U.S. debut on Nov. 20, when it will be unveiled on ABC’s “Good Morning America” show at its home port, Port Everglades in Florida. The official naming ceremony will be 10 days later. The ship will embark on its first cruise — a four-day trip to the port of Labadee in Haiti — on Dec. 1. more on this with a video

Breckenridge voting to legalize Marijuana?!

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo —  Voters in the Rocky Mountain town of Breckenridge will decide next week whether to legalize pot for all adults at a time when the movement to allow medical marijuana is gaining steam.

A measure before Breckenridge voters in Tuesday’s municipal election would legalize possession of smoking paraphernalia and up to 1 ounce of marijuana. Pot possession would still be a state crime, but town police officers would have to take users to the county sheriff’s department to be cited.

Prospects look good for the measure. In 2006, a statewide ballot measure to make marijuana possession legal failed 59 percent to 49 percent. But among Breckenridge voters, that measure won almost 3-to-1.

Man fakes moon landing

October 31st, 2009

from this article …

After hearing about preparations for the 40th anniversary of the moon landing at Kennedy Space Center last year, British engineer Iain Sharp decided to develop a tribute of his own. His offering, a remake of the 1979 Atari game Lunar Lander, in which players try to settle a module onto the moon’s surface, is a complex mix of scrapped PCs, fishing line, inkjet printer motors and miniature space vehicles.

To enhance the retro look, Sharp suspended the lander from a moving carriage with the fishing line. As the line unspools and the lander descends, the player turns a modified car steering wheel to rotate the module and then hits a button to fire the “rockets” and push the craft in the direction it’s pointing. The line spools up, and printer motors shift the carriage along a track, carrying the lander across the moonscape. more …

Low Cost MacBook

from this articleMacBook 2009
The new 13-inch MacBook brings the company’s “white plastic” model in line with the rest of its notebook offerings, but remains distinguished from the 13-inch MacBook Pro by its slightly larger and heavier polycarbonate body, limited upgrade options for CPU and RAM, and a few significant missing features: no FireWire, no backlit keyboard, no SD card reader, no external battery level indicator, and no IR receiver for using an Apple Remote.

Previous versions of the lower-end MacBook cut costs by supplying a whimper GPU or video output options and supplying a slower processor, but today’s version uses the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics chip supplying the same output display features, and supplies the same 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066MHz front side bus and the same 2GB of fast DDR3 RAM as the entry level MacBook Pro. The new MacBook also delivers a much improved, LED backlit display that’s much closer in quality to the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro. more …

New Food Sprinkle Convinces the Brain to Stop Over-Eating

(from this article)

A California Company has recently launched an interesting new product which may signal a major breakthrough in weight loss. The
company, Sensa, www.Sensa.com, came up with an innovative way to convince the brain to stop overeating.

First the theory behind the product. The obvious fact is that we eat too much.  But why?  It turns out that’s the way our brains are
programmed.  Throughout our evolutionary history, food has been scarce, so in order to ensure survival, humans have been conditioned to eat as much as they can whenever food is available.  Unfortunately, when food is abundant and rich in calories, as it is today, the results can be ugly. more…

Emerald Princess Cruise Review

October 30th, 2009

emeraldprincessBeing a first timer on a cruise, I learned a lot of things. Experience is a great teacher. First off, the Emerald Princess is a beautiful ship and the crew was top notch. The entertainment was great. In short, I had a great time … with the exception of boarding, and the food … the trip was flawless. Prior to leaving … I had great expectations for the food … but really, if you were trying to eat healthy … forget it or you will find it difficult at best. Before I left I set a goal for myself not to gain more than 4 lbs. The average weight gain on a 7 day cruise is 8 – 15 lbs. Judging the mounds of food my fellow cruisers piled on their buffet troughs … I can see why. The evening dining rooms were great … but by mid week they were serving some pretty wild stuff … I had to send my meal back and get something else … twice during the week. Probably my own ignorance of food choice. My biggest pet peeve was that there were not enough hydration stations on board … if you just wanted a glass of water or tea … it was a major deal to keep it coming.  Several times I felt like I was dehydrating.

Others told me on the cruise that they had the same complaint. Sure there are plenty of bars … and you can have all the $2.15 cokes you want … or $5 beer … or $7 wine … or $8 fancy drink with the umbrella and pineapple spear … but water or tea … they will serve in the smallest thimble known unto man. Next time I am taking a giant tumbler to fill up with ice, etc. etc. Shoot, if I had a bunch of tumblers … I could have sold them and made some tshirt buying money.

I will do it again and the next trip will  be better because we will have a knowledge of how things work. If you are looking for a classy cruise … I would go with the Emerald Princess. But … you have to know that it is an OLDER set of folks on board … so, if you get frustrated with people trying to get on a crowded elevator with their little electric scooter carts … or geriatric  entitlement issues … you might want to check out Carnival. At least that is what I was told.
